Facing the Board is never easy. You should seek help from a nurse attorney if you dealing with cases that are hard to overcome. Having a nurse attorney is a relief especially when you are having a hard time dealing with and winning against accusation cases.

At the time of the incident, the RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, and had been in that position for one (1) year and six (6) months.

It was on or about April 7, 2015, when an RN incorrectly transcribed the order for a patient as Cipro 500mg BID x 14 days when it was ordered for only 5 days. The RN’s conduct created an inaccurate medical record and could have caused the patient to suffer from adverse reactions if the medication was administered for longer than presented.

And on or about April 20, 2015, the RN lacked the fitness to practice professional nursing in that she was witnessed behaving erratically and when her cup was opened a strong odor of alcohol could be smelled. Additionally, when the RN was requested to attend a meeting a few days later regarding the incident, she was displaying tremors. The RN’s condition could have affected her ability to recognize subtle signs, symptoms, or changes in patient’s conditions, and could have affected her ability to make rational, accurate, and appropriate assessments, judgments, and decisions regarding patient care, thereby placing the patients in potential danger,

In response to the incident above, the RN’s action constitutes grounds for disciplinary action in accordance with Section 301.452(b)(10),(12)&(13), Texas Occupations Code, and is a violation of 22 TEX. ADMIN, CODE §217.11(1)(A),C(B),& C1 )(T) and 22 ‘Tex, ADMIN, CODE §217.12€1)(A),)(B),)E)A&(5). This became the reason why the Texas Board of Nursing had imposed to take the LVN and her license into discipline.
