If you also received a letter from the Texas Board of Nursing regarding a case or complaint filed on you, you should hire a nurse attorney immediately before it’s too late. Texas nurse attorney Yong J. An is one of those dedicated nurse lawyers who helped various nurses in their cases since 2006.

At the time of the incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital in Dallas, Texas, and had been in that position for five (5) months.

On or about August 17, 2018, the Texas Board of Nursing provided notice to the RN that an investigation was being initiated into alleged violations of the Nursing Practice Act and/or the Board’s Rules and Regulations Relating to Nurse Education, Licensure, and Practice, as follows:

A. On or about July 30, 2018, the RN lacked the fitness to practice nursing in that she exhibited signs of impaired behavior while on duty, including slurred speech, dozing off mid-sentence, and smelled of alcohol.

B. On or about July 30, 2018, the RN misappropriated Prochlorperazine, Prednisone, Lorazepam, and b “furosemide belonging to the facility and patients thereof in that medications were found in the RN’s purse.

In response, the RN states that she recently completed inpatient treatment for chemical dependency. The RN states that she’s currently in outpatient treatment, and is willing to participate in the Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN).

However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself, especially when the drug screening results were brought up to her. Therefore, the Board placed her LVN license to a disciplinary action instead.

It’s best to seek the help of a nurse attorney when facing charges related to drug use. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.
