The Texas Board of Nursing (BON) is the government agency that has jurisdiction to hear and decide administrative cases involving RNs in Dallas. It is also the agency that is responsible for overseeing the practice of professional nursing all over the state of Texas. She produced a urine specimen for a random drug screen that resulted positive for Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG) and Ethyl Sulfate (EtS), which are metabolites of Alcohol (ethanol).
The Agreed Order states that the nurse shall abstain from the use of alcohol, tramadol, and all controlled substances, except as prescribed by a licensed practitioner for a legitimate purpose…”
To counter the allegation, RN states she sought treatment and completed inpatient treatment on May 5, 2017.
