Losing your license may greatly affect your future career, but only if you failed to hire a nurse attorney for the case. There are some RNs and LVNs who missed their chances to get their license saved from revocation just because they weren’t able to hire any nurse attorney to defend them.

On or about October 9, 2015, a woman filed a complaint against an LVN in Dallas. The complaint involved negligence resulted in the death of their loved one. According to the complaint, the woman was making her way along a hallway using a walker and was struck from behind by a laundry cart. The woman fell on her left side and hurt her hip and left leg.

The patient claim that three hours after the accident, the woman was unable to get out of her chair so she was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. It is claimed that 2 days later she underwent surgery on her left hip, which was injured in the fall. The next day, the family claims that the woman became unresponsive and died a short time later. The complaint seeks to hold the LVN as well as the medical facility financially responsible for the woman’s death.

The Texas Board of Nursing thus finds that there exists serious risk to the patient’s health and that the LVN as well as the medical facility should be responsible for the incident.  And even though the LVN had the chance to explain her side to the Texas Board of Nursing, her lack of an effective nurse attorney to help her resulted to her disciplinary actions.

The case could have resulted in a lesser disciplinary action by the Board of Nursing, only if the LVN hired an effective nurse attorney to help her win her case.
