Nurses sometimes work in different conditions. They have to endure long hours and sometimes, a poor and understaffed environment. Because of this, they sometimes commit negligence due to a stressful working environment. When they experience such situations, due to stress and do not know what to do, they even failed to hire a nurse attorney which is very crucial to the case that they are facing.

At the time of the initial incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital facility in San Antonio, Texas, and had been in that position for twenty-eight (28) years and eight (8) months.

On or about October 19, 2018, while employed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the aforementioned hospital, the RN inadvertently administered another patient’s breastmilk to a patient. The RN’s conduct unnecessarily exposed the infant to a risk of harm from possible exposure to infectious diseases and/or medications.

In response, the RN admits to administering the wrong breastmilk. The RN states she was distracted by a phone call about her daughter and adds that the syringe did not have a label. The RN further states that the mother of the other patient in the room told her the milk belonged to the patient.

Because of this incident, the Texas Board of Nursing then subjected the RN’s license to disciplinary action.

The accusation would have been defended by an experienced and skilled nurse attorney if only the RN had hired one. Hiring a nurse attorney for defense is applicable for any kind of accusation laid against an RN or LVN.
