When blood flows only in one direction, there is a possibility that the veins will become swollen or twisted. The valves can become weakened or damaged which can result to the blood in slipping backwards and accumulating the veins.

1. Be aware of your weight gain and loss.

Being overweight can have an adverse effect on your health. This is also the same with varicose veins since the heavier you become, the more pressure will be placed in your legs. This can cause your heart pump difficulty. It can cause pain or harm when not dealt with right away. Hence, it is important to follow a balanced diet a t all times. Always your health in top priority in order to ensure that you can avoid illnesses such as having varicose veins.

2. Wear sneakers.

Hospitals and medical facilities are filled with people who are always on the go. Whenever you are on duty, it is highly recommended that you avoid wearing heels. Instead, wear sneakers or shoes that are comfortable. Doing such will not only help you perform your duties efficiently but most importantly; it can help you prevent a strain in the valves of your veins.

3. Try wearing compression stockings.

Compressions stockings are designed to facilitate an upward flow of blood towards your heart. In fact, most physicians prescribe these fashionable items to treat varicose veins. Just remember to use moisturizer while wearing this kind of stockings. It can help relieve, pain or discomfort that the compression stockings may bring.
